Drawing its inspiration from the global smash phenomenon, the game aims to offer all the thrills and excitement of the vampire action series in a beguiling slots package. So does it hit the mark? Let’s take a look.
The Blade slots game uses the award-winning Playtech software, which automatically scores it high points in our book, as they know how to deliver great online slots. With a host of outstanding features that greatly add to the smoothness of the gameplay, this offering is nevertheless a bit on the rudimentary side. In any case, we did enjoy the customisable playing arena and the game history feature, although we did wish that the game offered user control over the auto play feature.
The Blade slot game is easy enough to get into, thanks to the straightforward user interface. The included game rules and payout table are quite helpful in this regard, and we liked the fact that both could be accessed easily enough from the Info button.
While the graphics and sound of the Blade slot are more than sufficient, we didn’t really find them all that exciting or innovative. We have to say that we were a bit disappointed given Playtech’s previous contributions to the slots scene. Although the Blade slot game does offer a fairly satisfying eye candy fix, we couldn’t help feel that things could have been made better.
The Blade slot machine redeems itself somewhat with its approach to the Blade theme. A host of familiar symbols and imagery are used throughout, and this definitely imparts a cool atmosphere to the entire game. The high value cards also reflect the overall theme of the game, and we particularly appreciated this small but noticeable detail, which is a nice feature throughout the Marvel Slots series.
We found out pretty early on that the wild symbol gives the highest line payouts in this online slots game, and that the scatter symbol launches the cool free games feature. With a changing multiplier that adjusts itself to the winning and non-winning spins, the free games definitely adds a lot of enjoyment to the game as well as potential rewards.
The Blade slot game seems to promise a lot but we felt that it fell short in some key areas. The graphics in particular could do with some overhauling, but the game is otherwise a fairly enjoyable, albeit rudimentary, dip into the world of online slots.
